Beautiful memories deserve a beautiful ceremony

Naming Ceremony

Would you like your child to have a naming ceremony without the religious aspect you might find at a Christening? Maybe you would prefer to do something different like planting a tree, or lighting candles, maybe you’ve friends that you would like to read parts of the service. I’m happy to help with any of these ideas.

I will ensure that your naming ceremony is personal and dictated by your wishes. I’ll take time to get to know you and the family and write a bespoke ceremony to deliver on the day in a location of your choice. The venue for your ceremony is your choice. Your own back garden, local church hall, a park or even a woodland setting can be a beautiful location in which to create your memorable occasion.

A naming ceremony offers the perfect opportunity to welcome and celebrate a new addition to the family and provides a wonderful chance for the entire family to celebrate the birth or adoption of your child or children. I will help you to create a personal and unique celebration to name them and share the dreams and aspirations of your child’s future with family and friends.

A naming ceremony shows the importance of the relationship between parent and child.  It is generally a non-religious ceremony in which parents and godparents (or supporting adults/guideparents) declare their promises to the child in front of family and friends.

It is an expression of commitment to the child and provides a special occasion for the announcing of your child’s chosen names.  The ceremony can be combined with a birthday party - it is your choice, your ceremony.
