What is a celebrant?
A celebrant is someone who will work alongside you and guide you through the creation process of your wedding ceremony.
Together you will work on beautiful ideas and get to know one another, eventually resulting in a bespoke and personal ceremony that reflects you as a couple and your dreams for the future.
There are no rules and no boundaries.
Can a celebrant conduct a legally binding ceremony?
At present, in England and Wales, the law states that celebrants cannot conduct legally binding wedding ceremonies.
This is, however, extremely easy to rectify by making an appointment to sign the paperwork at your local registry office.
How long do celebrant ceremonies last?
My ceremonies last anywhere between 20 and 40 minutes on average.
It depends on what you would like to include.
Where can I have a celebrant wedding ceremony?
Anywhere you like is the short answer!
Indoors at a licenced venue, outdoors, on a beach, on a mountain, even in your own back garden.
There are no restrictions.
Can we exchange our wedding rings?
Yes of course you can - you can include any of the traditional wedding elements you wish.
Do we have to write our own wedding vows?
If you would like to then go for it!
But if this is something that makes you feel uncomfortable, or it’s simply something you don’t wish to do, then don’t do it.
Writing your own vows is just an option and it’s something we can work on together.
It’s your ceremony, you do it the way you want.
Do you conduct same-sex weddings?
Of course - no need to ask.
Can we include any symbolism in our wedding ceremony?
Absolutely - I will work with you to find the perfect symbolic event.
From Handfasting to Ring Warming, Jumping the Broom to The Sand Ceremony.
There are so many beautiful elements to choose from and there are many ways to include them in a wedding ceremony.
Can we include singing in our wedding ceremony?
Yes!
Music is a wonderful addition to any wedding ceremony - whether you’d like to get your talented friend to give us a solo, or get all your guests on their feet for a jolly good sing-a-long!
What areas of the UK do you cover?
I work throughout God’s own county of Yorkshire, as well as North Derbyshire. I will even pop over the border to Lancashire.
I’m always willing to travel if asked!
